Eternity was inspired, believe it or not, by death. I was feeling remorse and bewilderment for the loss of two close friends. They were a tremendous influence in my life. Their daughter was a senior in high school. She spoke at the Eulogy. I was deeply moved by her demeanor and poise. She spoke from her heart and addressed all the issues straight on. At that moment I realized that life ‘continues on’. Their strength and spirit ‘continued on’ in their daughter. I started composing this song the night of the Eulogy. It represents the joy and challenge of life, the sadness of death and the wonder and amazement in the rebirth of our spirit in our children. “Eternity” is my interpretation of life, death and rebirth.
